B'Dard Tone - Page 2

In addition, the loss of his former Padawan no doubt evoked strong feelings of vengeance within Tone, feelings some might call unbecoming of a Jedi. He believed that one of the Jedi Order's top priorities in those early days of the Clone Wars should be the elimination of General Grievous as a threat. Unfortunately, many in the Order were not willing to accept a doctrine of assassination. At that time, Grievous was still relatively unknown and many did not foresee the threat he represented. As such, Tone was forced to take a reticent attitude when discussing the matter as he searched for those who shared his opinions. He found concurrence in Jedi Knight Flynn Kybo who lost his own Master, T'chooka D'oon, on the planet of Vandos to General Grievous' blade.

Flynn Kybo shared Tone's views that the threat of General Grievous had to be contained. Despite being explicitly warned against any such action by the Jedi Council, B'Dard Tone, Flynn Kybo, and Codi Ty formed a plan to locate the cyborg general and eliminate him. Deserting their assigned missions, the trio met on the remote planet of Bryndar to begin their search. Using Codi Ty's astromech droids, the Jedi monitored subspace communications to try and pinpoint Grievous' location. In addition, they put out the call to any volunteers willing to follow them on a seek and destroy mission.

It was here that the Jedi met a miner by the name of Stellskard from Banvhar Station, a modest mining operation in one of the galaxy's thousands of asteroid belts. The miners of Banvhar Station knew Grievous well, the droid general having used the miners as target practice foe his battle droids. With no weapons to defend themselves, the miners were slaughtered. Those that survived harbored an intense hatred for the Jedi and were more than willing to join Master Tone and the Jedi a mission to kill him.

As the Jedi monitored Separatist communications looking for any mention of General Grievous in the encrypted signals, they discovered something horrifying. Grievous had stumbled upon a clan of young Padawans and kidnapped the young Jedi. Upon learning this the mission went from one of assassination to one of retrieval. Narrowing the search to the Anoat system, the Jedi used a stolen Trade Fedration probe droid to pinpoint his exact location. The Jedi followed the probe droids to the moon of Belsus where Grievous oversaw the Separatist activities as well as prepared the experiments he had planned for his Padawan captives.
